4C Group Partners with Carefree to Provide 10,214 Breaks for Full-Time Unpaid Carers in the UK

In 2022, 4C Group and Carefree officially announced their partnership with the shared goal of ensuring that every full-time unpaid carer in the UK can access an essential short break each year.

Carefree is dedicated to transforming vacant hotel rooms into crucial getaways for unpaid carers, who often sacrifice their own well-being to care for society’s most vulnerable members. As one of Carefree’s official Breakmakers, 4C Hotel Group is proud to offer rooms—including complimentary breakfast—at all eight of our UK-based hotels, subject to availability.

Carefree is a previous winner of the sustainability prize at the Skift Innovation, Design and Experience Awards (IDEA), which celebrate the big ideas defining the future of travel. Carefree was recently featured in a Forbes article titled ‘13 U.K. Hotel Groups Now Donate Unsold Rooms to Carers‘.

To date, Carefree has 28,128 carers registered, and together with other groups, we’ve provided 10,214 well-deserved breaks. 4C Hotel Group believe that everyone deserves a chance to recharge, and by working together, they can help shape the future of social care. Each donated hotel room not only offers a much-needed respite but also enables carers to return to their important work feeling refreshed and ready to continue their vital roles.

In early November, 4C Group joined Carefree at the launch of their Change Happens Overnight campaign, celebrating the positive impact of their partnership. Through this collaboration, hundreds of hotels across the UK donate available rooms to Carefree every day, giving carers a variety of options for their much-needed breaks.

4C Hotel Group strongly believe in the power of collective action. Everyone deserves a break – especially those who dedicate themselves to caring for others. This charity partnership with Carefree underscores their ongoing commitment to supporting unpaid carers in their community and shaping a better future for social care.
