Alliance Homes names Somewhere To Go as their 2025 charity of the year

Housing association Alliance Homes has announced ‘Somewhere To Go’ as their Charity of the Year for 2025, following a vote by colleagues and customers.
Somewhere To Go, a Weston-Super-Mare-based charity, provides practical support to local people facing homelessness, poverty, and social isolation. The charity offers vital services such as hot food, shower facilities, clean clothes, and advice to help those in crisis rebuild their lives.
Louise Swain, Chief Executive of Alliance Homes, says: "At Alliance Homes, we know that a safe and secure home is life changing. That’s why we’re committed to building and providing affordable homes across the region. But we also recognise that some people need additional support before they can move into a permanent home. Our colleagues felt strongly about supporting Somewhere To Go this year and we hope to help raise awareness and funds for the vital services they provide."
As part of their ongoing fundraising efforts throughout 2025, this summer, Alliance Homes colleagues will take on the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon. This hugely, physically demanding event aims to help raise awareness of some of the issues surrounding homelessness and will help provide much-needed resources to support the charity’s ongoing work in Weston-Super-Mare.
Ellie Lloyd, Manager at Somewhere To Go, comments:
"We are truly grateful to Alliance Homes for choosing us as their Charity of the Year. Knowing that the decision to support us came directly from their colleagues makes it even more meaningful. Their support will help us continue to provide vital services for those people who need them most."
Throughout 2025, Alliance Homes will organise fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and awareness campaigns to support Somewhere To Go and help make a difference for people suffering in crisis.
