Briggs Equipment raises over £102,283 for Young Lives vs Cancer
Briggs Equipment’s 2022 charity partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer has raised a huge £102,283 to help children and young people facing cancer.
Briggs Equipment’s staff participated in a vast array of fundraising activities including cakes sales, car washes, abseiling and marathons throughout 2022 to raise vital funds for the UK’s leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families.
August saw their Short Term Hire team organise a creative ‘Guess How Many Beach Balls’ competition, featuring one of their Young Lives vs Cancer branded JCB machines. This hugely impressive idea raised £840.
Briggs Rolling Thunder helped raise £12,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer. The fundraising event saw 40 riders from Briggs Equipment Group jump on their motorbikes to raise money and raise further awareness of the charity. 2 teams completed 10,000 miles in one day, passing the Manchester and Oxford Young Lives vs Cancer ‘Home from Homes’ centres.
One fundraising event involved Talent and Resourcing Advisor, Jake Aston, who went trekking around the Alps for 3 days, taking in the sights of Italy, Switzerland and France whilst raising over £4,100.
Esther Speck from Briggs Equipment’s Charity Team, commented:
“I can’t thank my colleagues at Briggs Equipment enough for their time, efforts, and creative fundraising ideas this year. So many people have gone above and beyond in their commitment and generosity to raise an unbelievable amount of money for Young Lives vs Cancer.
“A huge well done and thank you to all those who got involved and made 2022 an unforgettable year.”
Libby Welch, Partnership and Development Lead for Young Lives vs Cancer, commented:
“I just want to say a huge thank you to Briggs for their incredible support throughout 2022, from the moment we launched the partnership we knew Briggs Equipment’s people had a real commitment to raising vital funds and awareness for Young Lives vs Cancer.
“The amount that you have collectively raised has helped us support hundreds of children and young people with cancer and their families across the UK.”
Sam Hughes-Smith, Partnership Fundraiser at Young Lives vs Cancer added:
“In January we set out to do great things together, we asked Briggs to put fun into fundraising and they all delivered. They smashed their target, and their fundraising is helping us to provide social workers, home from home stays, and grants to the families who need our support following a cancer diagnosis.
“The tenacity and willingness of Briggs people to do whatever was needed to raise money has been outstanding, they’ve all done a wonderful job this year and we cannot thank you enough.”
Briggs Equipment also announced that their 2023 Charity Partner of the Year is the specialist dementia nursing charity, Dementia UK. Briggs Equipment kickstarted this partnership at their annual Sales Conference and raised £4,530 via a charity raffle for the charity.
