Take Me raises £15,200 for their charity partner NSPCC

Take Me, leading national taxi company operating in over 30 towns and cities, has successfully ended its 12-month charity partnership with NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). This impressive charity partnership led to £15,200 being raised to help support vulnerable children from across the UK.

Over the past year, Take Me staff and customers in Birmingham, Leicester, and in other UK towns and cities has helped contribute to this charity partnership. With small donations added to taxi fares playing a hugely significant role in reaching this impressive fundraising amount. The dedication and customer generosity shown throughout this charity partnership highlights Take Me’s commitment to making a real difference in the local communities.

David Hunter, CEO of Take Me, reflected on the inspiration for this charity initiative.

“We visited Childline in Birmingham in 2023, a city where our taxis operate daily. That visit was truly inspiring, and I knew we had to do everything we could to support NSPCC.”

In Birmingham, Leicester, and many other UK locations, Take Me understands the importance of giving back to communities. This charity partnership was an opportunity to use the extensive Take Me network as a taxi company to help drive positive change for children in need.

To celebrate the conclusion of the charity partnership, Take Me’s leadership team met with representatives from NSPCC on January 29th 2025 at the National Training Centre in Beaumont Leys, Leicester. The event was an opportunity to officially hand over the donation and celebrate the collective efforts which made it all possible.

The visit included a tour of the facility and a heartfelt discussion on how the funds raised will be used to support children in need.

Sam Paterson, Corporate Partnerships Manager at nspcc (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), shared his thoughts:

“We have been delighted to work with the team at Take Me. Their support has made a real difference both nationally and in local offices across the UK.”

Vikki Dutton, Head of Customer Service and Operations, emphasized the importance of the collaboration:

“On both a national and local level, the partnership between nspcc and Take Me has worked incredibly well.”

In addition to the charity partnership fundraising, Take Me supported events such as the NSPCC a major annual fundraising week in Leicester. By donating prizes and promoting the event via their social media channels.

Richard Quaife, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at NSPCC, highlighted the direct effect of the donation:

“This incredible contribution could help answer over 3,000 calls from children seeking help through Childline.”

Although the official charity partnership with the NSPCC has ended, Take Me remains committed to supporting NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). CEO David Hunter confirmed that the company is already brainstorming new fundraising initiatives for this summer.

“This cause is so close to my heart,” David stated.

“We are dedicated to continuing our support for NSPCC in new and innovative ways.”

The £15,200 raised will help provide crucial resources for vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the care and support they need.

Take Me has new fundraising initiatives planned in the near future.
